Vintage Dance Compact Coin Purse
Reflecting the social customs of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. These small, decorative purses—also known as dance compacts, minaudières, or necessaires—were popular among fashionable women attending formal events like balls, operas, and soirées.
Compact purses were small enough to be held in one hand, typically containing a powder compact, mirror, coin holder, and a space for dance cards (which listed dance partners for the evening). Many featured floral engravings, filigree, or repoussé work in sterling silver.
Please note all vintage pieces show signs of visible wear. These items are non-refundable.
