Vintage Oroton Glomesh Cigarette Case

Made in the 1970s, this vintage Oroton Glomesh Cigarette Case features a timeless silver finish, a testament to the craftsmanship of the era. Made in Germany, this piece not only speaks to the quality of its origin but also captures the essence of a bygone period.  

Oroton, an Australian brand, became famous for its glomesh products—fine metal mesh accessories from the 1950s onwards. The rise of social smoking in lounges, casinos, and cocktail parties made these cases both fashionable and functional, featuring a hard-shell with a snap closure, designed to hold cigarettes neatly inside a metal frame.

In later years, as smoking declined in popularity, cigarette cases became less common, and many were repurposed as card holders or small clutches.
