Vintage Hexagonal Brass Trinket Box
This vintage hexagonal brass box was sourced by our founder from the prefecture of Nagano, Japan, located in the Chūbu region of Honshu, Japan's largest island.
Carrying the charm of a well-loved, utilitarian piece with subtle decorative appeal, the lightweight, aged brass box features pierced cutout patterns on each panel, creating a soft interplay of light and shadow, while the lid is topped with a small turned finial and textured dot detailing.
Inside, the natural patina tells the story of its age and use—likely as a small storage box for incense, coins, or tiny keepsakes. Its geometric form and hand-worked detailing reflect the understated yet practical beauty found in traditional Japanese flea market finds.
Era: Likely mid-20th century.
